Tipping The Scales

Updated: Mar 26, 2023

The interesting thing about Balancing emotions is, you can have a bunch of things going really great for you. And one thing can come along and turn everything into a downward spiral. People may come along and try to remind you of all the good things that are happening in your life and for some reason you will not be able to listen to any of it. In that moment or the moments to follow, you will need to find a way to reconcile with the one thing that has created this upheaval in your life. You may experience an inability to engage in the things that used to interest you. You may not want to talk to people because you think they won't understand, you don't want to be a burden or somehow you need to deal with this on your own. As a result you may seek to spend more time alone, avoid activities that will place in with groups of people and avoid any deep conversations with family and friends.

All the world may have no idea what you are going through internally, as you put in a lot of energy keeping people away from what is going on inside of you. Or you may be the person who cannot go on functioning day to day, Maybe you're the person who has forgotten to shower, brush your teeth or change your clothing in days. Only you have not noticed this change in yourself and other people are now becoming concerned for you. It seems the more concern they express the worse you start to feel about yourself and the situation you are facing, making the retreat into your own space more attractive. Because while you are alone no one is asking questions you do not want to answer and you do not have to " talk about it."

Inner-balance Counseling provides a safe space for these conversations without judgement. The core of this practice is based on objectivity, mindfulness and opening oneself to be available to begin facing the THING that is tipping your scales.
